Simple MCP Server

A basic Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for testing MCP functionality.

Features

This server provides three simple tools:

echo - Echoes back any text you provide
greet - Generates a greeting message with your name
calculate - Performs basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

Setup

Install dependencies:

npm install
```
Run the server:
```
npm start
```

Testing with Claude Desktop

To test this MCP server with Claude Desktop, add the following to your Claude Desktop configuration:

macOS Configuration

Add to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json:

Usage Examples

Once connected, you can test the tools:

Echo: "Use the echo tool to repeat 'Hello World'"
Greet: "Use the greet tool with the name 'Alice'"
Calculate: "Use the calculate tool to add 5 and 3"

Troubleshooting

Make sure Node.js is installed
Ensure the path in your Claude Desktop config is correct
Restart Claude Desktop after updating the configuration
