md-mcp
Enables Claude to publish markdown to a local browser viewer for reading, screenshotting, or printing to PDF.
README
md-mcp
A slim local viewer for Claude Code output. Claude publishes markdown through an MCP tool; you read, screenshot, or print it to PDF from a browser tab at http://127.0.0.1:4141.
Setup
npm install
claude mcp add --scope user md-mcp -- node /home/muzzakhan/code/md-mcp/src/shim.js
That is all. The shared daemon auto-starts on the first publish call and
survives Claude Code restarts. History lives in memory only; restarting the
daemon clears it.
Use
Ask Claude to publish anything to md-mcp:
summarise the audit and publish it to md-mcp
- Every publish appends a page to that session in the viewer.
- Publishing with the same
keyupdates a page in place. - The sidebar groups pages by Claude Code session (labelled by project dir).
- Tail (the dot button, or
t) follows new pages live; arrow keys browse. - Ctrl+P prints just the current page, cleanly, for PDF.
Dev
npm test # node:test suites for the store and publish endpoint
npm run daemon # run the daemon in the foreground
