Linear Issue MCP

An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for Linear. Use it from Claude Desktop or any MCP client to create, search, update, and comment on Linear issues.

Requirements

Setup

git clone https://github.com/aniketsharma/linear-issue-mcp.git
cd linear-issue-mcp
npm install
npm run build

Create a .env file (or set the variable in your MCP client config):

LINEAR_API_KEY=your_api_key_here

Claude Desktop

Add to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS):

linear_create_issue Create an issue (title, teamId; optional description, priority, status)
linear_update_issue Update an issue by id
linear_search_issues Filter by query, team, status, assignee, labels, priority
linear_get_user_issues List issues for a user (or the authenticated user)
linear_add_comment Comment on an issue (markdown supported)
