GodotForgeMCP / godot-forge

godot-forge is being built as a safe, progressive-disclosure MCP server + Godot editor addon + MCP App canvas for Godot 4.5→4.8-dev.

Current status: M0 skeleton.

What works now

  • TypeScript/Node 20+ MCP server skeleton.
  • MCP 2026-07-28 negotiation over stdio.
  • Stateless HTTP JSON-RPC skeleton with MCP routing headers.
  • Capability probe for Godot binary, project root, C# project files, and GDScript LSP TCP 6005.
  • Exactly five always-on tools:
    • forge_search_tools
    • forge_describe_tool
    • forge_run
    • forge_inspect
    • forge_task_status
  • Durable task-shim store for M0 stub actions.
  • Tool token-budget measurement gate.
  • Local-client/Ollama smoke script that verifies MCP negotiation and gracefully reports when Ollama is not running.

Quick start

npm install
npm run build
npm test
npm run smoke
npm run probe

Run as an MCP stdio server:

node dist/index.js

Run the HTTP skeleton:

node dist/index.js --http --host 0.0.0.0 --port 3333
