DALL-E MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes OpenAI DALL-E image generation capabilities as MCP tools.
Features
generate_image— Generate images from text prompts using DALL-E 3 or DALL-E 2edit_image— Edit existing images with a text prompt and optional mask (DALL-E 2)create_image_variation— Create variations of an existing image (DALL-E 2)
Prerequisites
- Node.js >= 18
- An OpenAI API key with access to DALL-E
Installation
npm install
npm run build
Configuration
Copy .env.example to .env and set your OpenAI API key:
cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env and set OPENAI_API_KEY
Usage
Run directly
OPENAI_API_KEY=sk-... npm start
Configure with Claude Desktop
Add to your Claude Desktop config (~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json on macOS):
