Check My Notes MCP Server

An MCP server for Claude that gives the client access to search, read, and summarize local files and Google Drive.

Setup Instructions

1. Clone and Install Dependencies

git clone https://github.com/IsaacLy7767/Check-My-Notes.git
cd Check-My-Notes
python -m venv .venv
.venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -e .

2. Google API Credentials

  1. Go to the Google Cloud Console and enable the Google Drive API.
  2. Download your OAuth 2.0 client credentials and save the file as credentials.json in the root folder of this repository.
  3. On first run, the server will prompt you to authorize access and will automatically generate token.json locally.

3. Claude Desktop Configuration

Add the server entry to your claude_desktop_config.json:

reindex Manually reindex the current roots
change_local_search_root Changes the local search root directory
change_gdrive_search_root Changes the Google drive search root directory
extract_local_text Extract text from local pdf and docx files
extract_gdrive_text Extract text from files located in google drive
search_by_name Searches for files with names matching query
search_by_content Searches for files with content matching query
get_recent_activity Returns the most recently modified files under roots
