AutoCAD MCP Server for Claude Web (claude.ai)

Connect locally running AutoCAD 2014+ to Claude Web (claude.ai) via Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Cloudflare Tunnels.

Includes full source code for the 149-tool AutoCAD MCP Pro engine with dual COM API + ezdxf backend support.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Requirements

• Windows PC
• AutoCAD 2014 (or newer 64-bit AutoCAD)
• Python 3.11+ 64-bit
• cloudflared.exe (Cloudflare Tunnel client)

2. Installation

Install dependencies:

pip install -r requirements.txt

3. Start AutoCAD MCP Server

Double-click start_autocad_mcp.bat or run:

set AUTOCAD_MCP_BACKEND=com
python server.py --transport http --host 127.0.0.1 --port 8000

4. Start Cloudflare Tunnel

Double-click start_cloudflare.bat or run:

cloudflared tunnel --url http://127.0.0.1:8000

This will output a temporary HTTPS URL (e.g. https://<subdomain>.trycloudflare.com).

🔗 Connecting to Claude Web (claude.ai)

1. Open Claude Web.
2. Go to Settings → Connectors (or Remote MCP Connectors).
3. Click Add Remote MCP Connector.
4. Enter your endpoint URL:

   https://<your-subdomain>.trycloudflare.com/mcp
   

5. Click Connect. Claude Web will connect and expose all 149 AutoCAD MCP tools!

🛠️ Testing

Run the test script to verify connection and tool listing:

python test_mcp.py http://127.0.0.1:8000/mcp

Or test via Cloudflare public endpoint:

python test_mcp.py https://<your-subdomain>.trycloudflare.com/mcp

🔒 Security

• Loopback Bind: The MCP server binds only to 127.0.0.1:8000.
• Authentication: Optional Bearer token authentication via MCP_AUTH_TOKEN environment variable.
